Social and Emotional Development
Sometimes, if your child doesn’t know an answer right away, he or she might become frustrated. If this happens, sit with your child and validate their feelings: “I can see that you are upset. It is okay to make mistakes. Let’s try again together.” Gently encourage him or her to come up with another answer. Tell your child that it’s okay to feel frustrated or sad, and share a time when you were frustrated and someone helped you feel better.
